30 days as people would otherwise add the pplan whenever they had an issue come up like a service call to get the tech out for free then cancel once the issue is fixed. The way they have it is it doesnt activate until 1 month and last I knew when I did tech support you had to have it for an entire year or get a 10.00 cancellation fee.

In addition to a cancellation fee you also pay for any service you received under the protection plan if you cancel it before you've had it for a year. They have that pretty well figured out just like insurance companies. You can't have an accident and then suddenly sign up for collision insurance!!!
