Well, I'm getting the HR24 and H24. But I'm getting charged $25 for the DECA to connect the DECA cloud to my home network and subsequently the internet. I even called on Tuesday to run over my order with someone live at DirecTV to make sure that was part of the install. I specifically asked the customer service lady about the connection to my network at the advice of RAD above. Oh yeah, she said, the installer would take care of everything she said. So the installer gets here and it's not on the work order and it'll cost me an extra $25 if I want the DECA to do it. Now I don't really care about the $25. I'd pay that for the connection if I had to but what irks me is that I was told it was included until the installer got here.

Not a very good first impression for a brand new customer DirecTV. Not impressive at all.

Yes, they all have 500GB HDDs and will record about 100 HRs of MPEG4 programming. Depends on the content. The 23 is probably the poorest choice of the three.

If you want you could send an e-mail to ellen.filipiak@directv.com which is DirecTV's version of ceo@dishnetwork.com and let them know of your experience. Maybe they can credit your account, maybe not, but at least they might get the word to the CSR on how to properly get the orders placed.

(Apologies to the other installers on the boards in advance). I'd make sure he isn't trying to scam you. Does he want cash only? Ask him who to make the check out to, company name only. This just doesn't sound right.

It was right and he wasn't trying to scam me. I talked to the DirecTV people on the phone and they used my credit card number they already had on file from the order. I guess he called them when the DECA wasn't on the order and he said he couldn't install that part unless they updated the order.

And, they didn't want to take my friend's directv account number for the credit since I didn't do it at the time of my order since I never saw where to put it in when I ordered online. But they don't want to play ball with me on that either.

And there are audio dropouts with my new setup that never happened with Dish!
