Is this working? If so, it is not working for me. Any updates?
No alerts "on the 8's" yet ... rumors say soon.
They promoted it with a full page ad in, I believe, the March issue of Dish Magazine as being available that month. Hasn't been mentioned since.
From DISH magazine October 2006
It's Coming soon, Like the content on a couple RSN's.
Expect it in May.I have this from a good source.
"sources" have been wrong over and over with Dish .... at this point, expect nothing and when it shows up, let it be a surprise !
How are they going to do it? Spotbeam?
No not spot beam. To see how most of it works, launch the interactive page and then select 2 5. For weather on the 8's all they need is to be able to launch the same pages when watching the weather channel.
Note since my post they have eliminated the accu-weather on 2,1 and moved this from 2, 5 to 2, 1.
to have the weather info "default" to the city chosen on the interactive page with the option of choosing weather info from the other 4 "favorites". Another way would be to enter a zip code for local forecasts.
"Soon" as in...? Any further on this?
I used this and really liked it when we had it..will we get it back?????
No word ... and I'm curious too!
Got it here on my 222!
After having interactive weather channel forecast work for a few weeks I went ahead and setup some favorite cities in addition to my home location. This worked fine for a few weeks. Then a few days ago I went to interactive weather and got the "please wait while we setup up your location" message and all the favorites were gone.
Not the first time this has happened but I'm fed up. Either get it working permanently or take it off completely. I'm tired of having it come and go. The setup of favorites is agonizingly slow. I tired of wasting my time only to have DISH wipe it all out a few weeks later.
Gone today from my 222!
Works just fine on my 625 in Iowa.
Does not work on my 722.
According to a post by Rob Glasser in another thread this should now be active. Well clearly isn't right now, but probably momentarily.
I just used it and it was great
