abospaum, your opinion is noted.
Danny - absolutely.
I was referring to a question last contest about whether Jeff would take the Immunity Cutlass out of its sheath.
I did notice that the other tribe members did not include Richard in the celebratory hugging after the victory.
They obviously had personal items with them, as each person was shown with at least one change of clothing.
I disagree - I think that the people arrived on the island wearing several layers of clothing that were subsequently stripped off giving the impression that they have changes of clothing.
I don't recall hearing him give any such instruction however on the opening sequence when the boats were racing in to shore the voice over stated that they would not have any supplies. This wasn't actually true but it is what was said. And again from the CBS website description of what happened:
With a Panamanian military escort, three motorboats shot across the sea, each holding a tribe of castaways from SURVIVORs past: All-Star Survivors. The eighteen people were divided into three tribes named Saboga, Mogo Mogo and Chapera. The All-Stars were given nothing but their water canteens. They were not told the names of the other castaways or how many tribes there were. Armed with no information, no fire and no help, these eighteen All-Stars would be challenged once again to outwit, outlast and outplay one another in order to see who will become the Sole Survivor.
Just an FYI, the contest is scored based on what is seen and/or heard in the episode, not by the recap on CBS.com. As you can see sometimes the recap doesn't always agree with what was seen or heard during the episode. I agree the wording of the question does leave doubt but Mark did make it perfectly clear that basically if they were 'given' anything other than the water source itself then that would be considered supplies and the first choice would be the correct answer. Also the water bucket, bowl, coconut shell, whatever it was DID count as supplies because I don't see anywhere in this thread where Mark discluded anything related to the water supply, only the water supply itself.
As I mentioned in the other thread, I finally watched the episode last night:
The Survivors were given supplies (although not in a container)
Actually they were given a steel cooking pot which was found near the water supply. I'd argue that this isn't just part of the water supply, as its shaped something like a wok with a handle and can obviously be put over a fire. While some called it a bucket, others called it a cooking pot. I'd consider this a container, as its a multipurpose item and certainly isn't the usual sealable water jug they normally get to store their water in.
Besides the machette, they also all recieved a diving mask on the second day. I think this also counts as a supply, as every team got it and it didn't need to be won.
I was not going to pipe in here since I disagree with the ruling, but I thought I would bring up the point... the correct answer says "Some container full of supplies". What the survivors where given was no where close to a container full of supplies. Key word being "full". What they were given was much closer to nothing than a container full of supplies from how I see it.
I disagree with the ruling, but its Mark's call and I have to respect it and move on. It is only week one and I have plenty of time to catch up. I am more concerned with the fact that a spoiler site had the idol as being one idol two pieces. UGHHHHHH!!!! I would hope that it being the all-stars that this info would be better kept secret.

Actually I wouldn't call it a secret at all but a piece of well published information.
TV Guide Channel clearly featured the idol in a story several days before the episode aired.
The image is that of Arion and the Dolphin, which is a greek myth. How this relates to All Stars, I'm uncertain, except that its a survival story and the liars get their due.
