I currently subscribe to the Choice Extra package with HD/DVR for $75.99 and a one yr promotion of $xxx dollars deducted.

I recently looked at my bill and the itemization is:

Jan 30 HD Access Charge $9.67
Jan 30 HD Access Disconnect Charge ($9.67)
Jan 30 HD Access Charge $9.67
Jan 30 HD Access Disconnect Charge ($9.67)
    Feb 2 HD Access $8.67
Feb 2 HD Access Adjustment ($8.67)

It looks like it all evens out but I am trying to understand my bill.

I noticed the same thing (my bills are online). I had about 6 disconnect/connects. What happened was I tried removing the HD-EXTRA PACK and it didn't work and each time I did it it gave me the HD disconnect/connect lines. The CSR had no idea WHY except to tell me I can't disconnect HD-EXTRA PACK online. I asked her why it gave me the option to do so and she had no idea.

    01/26/2010 XXXXXXXX8079 DIRECTV HD EXTRA PACK - Disconnect Adj($2.99) $0.00
    01/26/2010 XXXXXXXX8079 HD Access - Disconnect Adj($10.00)$0.00

I did try canceling HD extra pack but this appears to be the HD Access which is $10/month correct? They are different items.

I got the same thing when I tried to remove the HD Extra Pack on-line. The good news is, when I called to get it removed, the CSR offered me a $10 credit for 12 months, if I didn't remove the HD Extra Pack. Good Luck :)

Right ... that is why it is so screwed up. Like you said though, it all evened out.

Mmmm I guess I called the wrong number and I canceled via the telephone computer. I was never sent to a human voice. Oh well. :) I wonder if it will be taken off my programming. Does it happen instantly?

Yes, within a minute or so. Not sure what you called but you usually need to speak to a rep to cancel programming. If yours isn't gone then it wasn't cancelled.

It is gone-thanks. I am quite surprised I wasn't sent to a human. I really don't think they like when people cancel any service/programming.

I got the same thing Maleman. I had tried to cancell it on January 25th, 26th and today online and got emails every time stating it was cancelled. It was still active and I was still being charged for it though. I saw this thread and hoped I may get lucky and get a refund like Orthogon got but the automated system simply took it off without transferring me to a person and it's finally gone from my account.

    Sherman...
I also only talked to the computer when I canceled the HD Extra pack a couple weeks ago. I guess they figure that since it's not exactly a high-priced big-ticket package, it's usually not worth taking up a CSR's time to try to talk you out of canceling it.
