    Welcome to the Field Trial....

These are the general rules that pertain to all field trials:

    1. Please do not speak or write about the H24 or HR24 outside of this particular forum.
    2. Communication between DIRECTV and testers will be done through this forum. If you need to contact a CSR for any reason, please contact a DIRECTV moderator for clarification before doing so. At any rate, please do not say anything to a CSR about the H24 or HR24.
    3. The H24 and/or HR24 is provided for testing purposes. That means DIRECTV can send software updates for any reason, at any time, or request the H24 and/or HR24 back for any reason, at any time.
    4. You're invited to participate in writing the DBSTalk.com "First Look" for this field trial, or even write your own. However, we ask that we have the opportunity to review anything you write, both for accuracy and confidentiality. Any "First Look" will be published in the DBSTalk.com standard format as determined by Stuart Sweet, Chris Blount and other Moderators.

These terms remain in force even after the general public has started receiving the H24 or HR24 until you are specifically told that the field trial is over.

If you are have questions about any of the above rules... contact a DIRECTV moderator (Greg Alsobrook, Michael D'Angelo, Doug Brott, Tom Robertson or Stuart Sweet).

    Enjoy!

For this field trial, there are three distinct groups.

Group #1 will receive an H24 (non-DVR) receiver to be added to your existing DECA network.

Group #2 will receive an HR24 DVR to be added to your existing DECA enabled network.

Group #3 will receive both an H24 (non-DVR) receiver and an HR24 DVR to be added to SWM network.

Some folks were invited to group #1 that do not have an existing DECA network. I will work with DIRECTV to get adapters, so do not fret.

Thank you all for your participation. There are only a limited number of slots for each group, and your participation will help DIRECTV get this devices well tested and ready for the masses.

    So Doug...

It was noted in the invite that we need to disconnect the rest of our units from the network during the field trials... Does this mean any others using DECA or any units connected via the swm, or any units period, regardless of how they are hooked up?

I assume that we are always welcome to at least plug them back for a moment to send reports while other units are on a CE, correct?

Hi all. Ill guess you know which of the three groups you are in from the initial invite's equipment listed? Just curious, as if I will need to aquire another monitor if I am in group 3, but since only the H24 was mentioned in the email, Ill take it I am in group 1 :)

In either case, ready to test. Will this replace or supplement the previous message regarding the shipping of a new set of DECA's?

Hi everyone. Looks like it's time to have some fun again:). I finally have an excuse to return some of the leased equoipnet I have. A couple of the ancient Hr2x are starting to have disk problems.

    Doug,

Do we also get the filters to block the ethernet from the SWM?
