I'd love to test SWM & DECA, but I just can't justify $120 on a SWM just to try it out. Anyone have one that they wanna give me?

$120?! I bought mine as a package deal of a bunch of stuff and sold what I didn't need. I got a SWM setup for $16.04, and I still have two legacy LNBs for sale on eBay from that lot that is going to take the number even lower.

Recieved my H24-700 today. Up and running on the software in the box. No DECA equipment, so I will try a powerline adapter later.

Never even thought to look at ebay, I was just looking at Solid Signal and saw they were $120.

Yeah, try to find a set of things that you could turn around and resell that has what you want in it. That's how I got my receivers as well, but it was on craigslist.

I'm hoping DECAs start poppig up cheap on there. You know there will be those people that cancel and try to sell their stuff all over the place when it hits nationwide. As long as they don't start marking the adapters owned/leased it will be sweet!

Yeah a quick look at ebay shows a number of SL3 swm lnbs for a bit under 40$ shipped. Have to decide if I want to pick up one of those or run another cable.

Just remember if you get the SWM lnb there are no legacy ports. I don't know if you all need them.

The SWM setup is awesome though, now I can use the OTA on all of my tv's. Having Milwaukee and Chicago locals is sweet.

Still no new receiver showing up on my account on line but I decided to just go for a SWM LNB. I have no legacy receivers and don't see my self going past the 8 tuner limit with only 2 tv's, LOL. Easier to switch to a swm lnb than it is to run extra cabling and I couldn't find any good Solid Copper core rg6 anyway. I know you could get away with Copper clad steel on a short enough run but might as well go SWM.

I've got a spare sl3 and sl5 so I'll just ebay those to cover the SWM cost.

If you'll review my comments in the "Round 2 first impressions" thread you'll understand why I'm asking this....

Can you send me a link to your seller or the auction you bought from (if the seller had multiples for sale that is?). :)

There are a couple of them still up there. Just search for SWM LNB then sort by Price + Shipping lowest first and click the Buy it now tab. I currently see about half a dozen LNB + PI + Splitter listings for around 40$.

I see the SWM LNB's are pretty common, unfortunately I need an SWM switch because I have an AT-9...I did see a couple on there, cheapest was about $55 shipped for SWM with PI...

Yeah the SWM8's are a little more expensive. Replacing the AT-9 gets pricey because of the cost of shipping the reflector. It you had been in my area I would have offered you the spare one sitting in my garage =)

I wish it would act up often enough where I could call for a tech. We only see it once in a while, maybe a couple times a day and it doesn't last long. Hard to justify a service call over that. :(
