What do you guys think?
You need to be more specific.
Jimi Hendrix's Star Spangled Banner.
Joe Cocker-A Little Help From My Friends.
Anything by Johnny Rivers were better than the originals, like Memphis.
The Beatles Twist & Shout was better than the Isley Brothers.
Music Cover: A new performance or recording of a previously recorded song by someone other than the original artist.
Different stokes for different folks. It’s all a matter of taste.
I knew that! The OP wasn't specific -- just said "What do you guys think"
I stumbled across Chase Holfelder's minor key cover of Cyndi Lauper's Girls Just Want to Have Fun. I find the song takes on a new, haunting quality. As if it's being sung by someone that longs for fun rather than enjoys any.
I also like the rendition of Simon and Garfunkel's The Sound of Silence done by Disturbed
Oh, and perhaps most of all, I find both, very different, renditions of Gotta Get a Message to You, (originally a Bee Gees tune,) done by Movy Fruvous to be better than the original. This first one was similar, then the second one took it to an entirely different place.
Behind Blue Eyes-Limp Bizkit
You Can't Hurry Love - Phil Collins
I would say maybe WOODSTOCK by Crosby, stills and nash only because I heard thiers first.....
"A Groovy Kind of Love" by Phil Collins
Also, just about any song performed by Straight No Chaser
Celine Dion's version of "The Power of Love".
American Woman - Lenny Kravitz (AP: Spy Who Shagged Me soundtrack)
Don't Let the Sun Go Down on Me - Rodger Daltry (Lost Boys soundtrack)
Sticking with the theme of my previous posts...
True Colors - Phil Collins
Pinball Wizard by Elton John.
