    When you activate that receiver...
Unless you can prove you purchased it from a retailer at the full price ($800 ish)...

You most like do have the 2 year commitment tagged on it.

The prevailing opinion is that regardless of how you come by the new receiver, dish, cable and installation, you will be locked in to a qualifying basic package as well as HD and DVR fees.

Only D* can tell you exactly what they will offer you. Maybe they will throw in Superfan.

Well I have the full package. All the channels including NBA and NFL season tickets. So maybe thats why they didn't ask my any questions. I bought my HD DVR on Ebay. it got here, call directv, told them i want to add a new receiver and in a matter of 1 minute, it was up and running.

Do you have a "Leased Receiver" fee on your bill?

The HR20-700 has a built-in RF antenna?? Or do you simply mean built-in ATSC tuner?

The RF antenna is for an RF remote control. Has nothing to do with OTA. They both have tuners for digital and HD OTA.

Yes the RF antenna for the remote is built into HR20-700 and you have to connect a RF antenna to the -100.

So basically, the switch allows you to receiver information from differnet satellites?

No. It allows you to run one line to a HR20 and use both tuners or you will be able to run one line and use splitters and hook up a few H20 receivers or D12 receivers when they get there software updates for it. There are two different units. One is a 5 channel and the other is a 8 channel. Each channel is one tuner that the unit can run. So you can hook up 4 HR20's with only one line to each and so on.
