    Hi all,
I'm newbie here, and noticed that the past questions from a potential customer was in 06.
I'm a Potential customer for Dish, may decide in a few days.
My main reason for considering Dish over Direct tv is the international programmings.
I don't watch much american tv ( unless it's sports)

My main requirements are as follow:
    BeIN sports
    Tennis Channel
    football channels (soccer)
    And French channels.

    That's it!
However, some companies try to give their new customers old boxes and equipments. Anything I should look for when the installer comes?

I have an HD projector(living area) and a small hd tv in the bedroom.

I don't care for DVR or anything of that sort, nor protection plan.

    Just those few channels
Here's what I got from the Dish Site. Please help me. :(

    TV# Room HD DVR
    1 1 - Living Yes No
    2 3 - Master Yes No
    Rcvr 322 SD Duo (2TV)

Any new customers discount? for January 2013
Is that receiver good enough for my HDMI project?
I have heard horror stories about auto pay with Direct tv, have anyone faced extras monthly fees with Dish unexpectedly?
I'd prefer no contract and pay with cash, not credit card if that's the case. but I know that may not be possible.

Thanks in advance for the answers.

322 is probably a bad choice it is SD only. Two 211 receivers would give HD for both of your HD TV sets. For any promotions I think you need to be set up with credit card and leasing the equipment.

No DVR!?!?! What is this, 1995????

Seriously though, you should at least get HD since you have HD TVs but keep in mind that any Duo receiver will only feed one HD output, the second TV will be in SD. And all the best deals usually require Autopay IIRC and they may require a larger initial payment if you don't use a credit card at all.

It's not 1995. I'm well aware of the benifits of DVR but it doesn't mean that it fit my lifestyle. I've been without tv for 10 years. I rarely watch TV's the only time I watch is the World cup football or grand Slam tennis tournament( usually go to a bar for that ). Were I'm from people don't spend all day in front of their Tv. I've a very active person and doubt that I will all sudden glue to the tv. I don't need DVR because I don't have any specific show that I follow. I don't care if I miss tv show's or games because I don't watch them anyways.
I'm not even sure why I'm getting cable anyways because it seems to be a long commitment and I don't watch TV.
If I have to do autopay, I won't do it. I want to pay one fee anually. the neighbor mentioned that she's pay one sum anually.
I don't think I need to pay extra for two HD boxes. If I don't have to pay extra then I will get it.

    Dear, Dish CSR.
Please email your upper boss and tell them to put BeIN sports on the international sport pack. It makes no sense that an international sport channel is not under international sport pack.
I wanted Tennis channel, BeIN sport, fox soccer and french bouquet.

So I had to pay $192 with NO HD box $40/month
    just to get:
    international basics ( useless)
international sports covers:( tennis channel, fox soccer)
    french bouquet covers french channels

NO BEIN sports !!! unless I get america's 250 add on.
Why the heck no BEIN sport in the international sport pack I paid for???
PLEASE fix this Dish or else I'm quiting my membership after 2 days.

btw I spend 2 hrs on the phone.

Cheapest way to get BEIN Sports would be to get Dish Latino Bonus. Its al la carte. $15/mo

Most Grand Slam Tennis events are shared between the Tennis Channel and ESPN, with ESPN getting the lion's share of the good matchups. If you were serious about watching tennis, you should add ESPN to your must-have list.
