The thread asks what Sports packs you subscribe too, not if you do
None I would buy NFLST if SF is free. I refuse to pay for NFL HD when I am paying for HD access. Do you hear me DIRECTV!
I have Sports Pack as part of Premier, and that makes sense because Des Moines is at the nexus of the market areas of six MLB teamsm (Cubs, White Sox, Brewers, Twins, Cardinals and Royals), three NHL teams (Wild, Blackhawks and Blues) and two NBA teams (Bulls and Timberwolves). Plus Sports Pack is the only way to get the soccer channels (FSC, FSE and GOL-TV).
Used to have ST (as part of sign-up promotion), as well as NBA, NHL, MLBEI and Setanta. Then I realized:
I wasn't watching most games because I was refereeing on Sundays during the football season and eating dinner when most of the weeknight contests in other sports were just starting, and
my TV bill was as much as car payment.
NHL will bite the dust after this season unless they lower the price or I win the lottery!
and the sports pack which I don't count
NFL ST w/ Superfan
Maybe a Mod can put an option for none in the poll?
What are you guys looking for? This is my topic, I asked what PAID sports subscription you get.
If it's free it's not paid for. Don't vote.
I would pay for NFLST if SF was free otherwise my vote is none. so put an option for none.
The poll is asking for what paid susbscription you get. Don't vote, that means no. Or make your own poll.
I used to be a subscriber to NFL Sunday Ticket, but the prices just got way out of hand. I'm an Eagles fan and found by just making it sorta look like I live in NYC, I get most of their games while avoiding having my Flyers games being blacked out. If Directv wants to make that package more reasonably priced, I'd shell out the dough. But almost $400 for 4 months?! No way in hell.
You guys would buy Cricket Ticket before MLS Direct Kick huh?
Poor MLS! You guys gave it a kick in the groin!
Nfl, nba, nhl, mlb
Used to subscribe to the Sunday Ticket until they started blacking out Charger games in Los Angeles County.
I pay enough every month for the "free" sports channels... the ESPNs, NFL-network, etc, etc, etc. And now I hear they're going to force the NBA channel on us.
I was just thinking the same thing. I get plenty of quality sporting events at no premium costs. (and I am a sports fan). A good example, the masters was on all over the place free. I recorded all of it. NCAA BB....same deal. NFL Football...same deal. With ESPN, NFL Network and regular networks, I get to watch as much football as I have time for, and since I'm a fan of the game and not just a single team, just about any game is fine for me.
I'm with Stuart!
I'm also living in the same town I was born & raised in, and our sports teams were pretty good growing up, so I'm a hometown boy all the way. 49ers, A's, some Giants. Warriors (even though basketball sucks). And, of course, the Sharks!
If I was single, still, I'd have NHL CI, but with a wife and 2 kids at home, 1 team is more than enough hockey each season. Of the 82 games the Sharks play, if 77 are televised, I probably saw 75 of those. And the 5 non televised I listened to on the radio.
I'll watch another NHL team on occasion if they're on Vs. or the NHL network, but other than that, I follow the Sharks and that's it. And since they're local, they're free... so no sports packages for me.
Setanta, mainly for Rugby and Aussie Rules Football.
NFL ST & SF, Sportspack & NBA LP (will not renew)
