I get pixelation on my MPEG2 channels and am really looking forward to ESPN (and ESPN2) moving to MPEG4 to get rid of the pixelation

Probably after the D11 sat is launched and put into service.

ESPN's PQ has been so bad lately I don't know that we'll be able to tell the difference when they do go to MPEG4. :(

No problems with ESPN or ESPN2 HD at all. I am wondering why some do have problems with them.

Because they (most anyway) are watching them on bigger sets than you are. Get a bigger set and you will notice the terrible PQ. Some of it is ESPN's fault, but most is D*'s.

Anyway, I think they should have moved the Mpeg2 stations over instead of launching SD upconvert channels like Cartoon, Speed, VH1, etc. Those channels could have waited for D11.

I thought ESPN HD had good picture quality with cable. I'm assuming it will be equivalent PQ when they move to MPEG4. If so, I think we'll be quite happy when it does, just my opinion.

I would say in mid to late (more likely) 2008
