Despite DIRECTV12 will be launched in the next couple of weeks and will start being used within 6 months of launch.

However, when will DIRECTV launch HD Locals in the Duluth-Superior area?

Not until 2013, I'm guessing, when the next satellite is launched. Duluth, Fargo, and others get their locals off the 119 satellite.

Welcome to the club. "Hi, my name is Wisegoat and I am an HD Addict. I am now in month 8 of no HD LIL and am making do with an OTA setup." I live in the second largest DMA with no HD LIL and am not expecting them until I see a man in red pajamas with horns and a pitchfork dancing in the snow. Make friends with your antenna!

I *think* I'm in the largest(Lansing)......truthfully while I wish I could get my locals, the OTA solution is actually better PQ and I get all the sub-channels, so I'm probably better off. If antenna is a viable option, be careful what you wish for.

I am curious as to what the reason is for our DMA to still be ignored. It's cost me probably 15 referrals because people don't want to deal with OTA.

It's not a priority for DirecTV to light up HD locals in those markets. Haven't all of the recent HD local launches been ones that weren't already in SD?

    NO.
17 long standing SD markets (Mid DMA Rankings) have been the HD LIL stepchildren.
Many lower 1/3 DMA's have had HD channels activated!
Chico, CA was updated on 6/22/2011
Yakima, WA scheduled for next week.

No word on the other 15!
    All waiting for years now!

Wow, only 17 markets with no HD locals, and only 15 others with no SD or HD locals are all that's now left for DTV to add? They've sure added a ton of markets over the last few years. Last time I looked at the list a few years ago they were missing upwards of 90 markets - some of them pretty large. Little consolation if you're one of the unlucky stragglers left I know...

    YEP!
when Yakima, WA added this week, 179 of 210 DMA's with HD locals
and 194 of 210 with HD or SD locals.

It kinda sucks. My OTA can get sketchy at times due to wind and/or multi-path issues. It's pretty frustrating to be in DMA 115 and still have to deal with this. But I do use it as a bartering tool to get a $5/mo discount.

Any update on this. I know they are scheduled for this year, but is there a more concrete time frame out there at all?
