Currently, Detroit locals are carried on both arcs, with four of the nine channels carried in HD on both arcs (CBS, NBC, ABC, & Fox). Will Dish change this setup in the future and remove Detroit locals from one of the arcs? I am on western because I have a mix of MPEG-2 and MPEG-4 receivers. I would prefer to stay on western too due to better line-of-sight.

Unfortunately, we don't know. Looking at the Detroit locals, the 4 major SD networks are only on Western arc, which leads me to believe they'll always be available on WA.

There several DMA's that were being installed on EA, but were changed back over to WA installs back in (I think) December.

Either way, there's no definite answer I can give since we don't find out about sat/channel changes until it happens. An educated guess is they will be simulcast for awhile
