I have now had Genie at my home for two months and LOVE it. My sytem includes:
    1 HR34
    1 HR24
    2 clients
    SWIM 16

My question is: What is my expandabilty with the above equipment? Can I add two more clients to this? These would be to add two additional bedrooms that had previously been connected before Genie but now that my daughter and granddaughter have moved back, I would like to add them. So, the wiring is already there, back to my SWIM and splitters in my garage.
If the answer is yes can I just purchase the two clients and reconnect my cables to the existing spitters? Its no biggie to me and I dont need an installer to do this. I was wondering though, what is the capacity of my Genie system. With my HR24, I have seven tuners, correct? Do the clients count as tuners?
Anyway, thanks in advance for your suggestions. I never make a "move" with my home system until I get advise from my fellow DBS'ers.. lol.

Yes you can add 2 more client boxes, but hr 34 can only stream 3 remote locations at one time.

What you might want to consider, is adding 1 client box and 1 H25 if you think you ever being using the hr34 and the 4 client rooms at the same time.
Hr24 will use its own tuners and doesn't add any function what so ever to clients boxes other then playback.

No, Genie minis do not use any tuners from the SWM16, they use the tuners front the Genie

OK that sounds like a plan. So I can add 1 client and one H25. With the H25 can I sill access everything on my HR24 and Genie?

    YES!
H25 won't be able to pause or rewind live tv, but you can schedule a recording from your H25 to your HR24 and HR34, something a Client can't do off the Hr24.

OK great! I wonder if D has any specials going for the H25 and C31/33? Is it difficult to set up the new client with the Genie? Something I can do? I prefer not to pay for a service call. I am "semi" capable...lol
Thanks Damondlt and Peds48, I appreciate your help.

You should call to see what kind of deals they have. What is on their web site and what you're offered can be totally opposite.

Depending on your daughter and grand-daughters viewing habits, you might want to either designate the HR24 for them or get another DVR. The Genie clients will only record to the Genie.

Ha...my daughter is recording everything on site with all the space the Genie has. She mostly watches TV in the family room. I myself try to record from my HR24 in my bedroom. I think the 1 client and 1 H25 will do just fine..but, can i add them without a service call. I think the Genie needs to have the client set up..is that much of a challenge..??

Its easy, no you shouldn't need a service call.

If all the cables are ran, or you can run them, the rest is a piece of cake. You just go into the Genie menu and go to adding a client.
The H25 doesn't require anything other then a connection to your swm system, and it will see all your DVRS.

With my System, I make the kids use the HR23, for all their hundreds of nonsense cartoons and 30 minutes shows, Their movies they use the Genie.
The HR 24 is out of the loop for access strictly for the bedroom eyes only.
HR 24 can access Genie and HR 23, but not the other way around currently.

The H25 also I have limited to only see the HR34 and 23.

I'm going to say you may get an offer for one, but not both.

I got my HR 24, only because one day I went on Directv .com, and clicked on adding H25, well its said Free.

Well I figured, I better check and see what a client was, it also said free.
So now you bet , I'm checking HD DVRS, and yep it was FREE!. Cost me $22 in shipping and I added another DVR.

But you want 2 receivers, so I'm going to bet , they may want something.

The question you should ask yourself, do you really want both your daughter and granddaughter controlling the content on the Genie?

With a SWiM6 you have room for 16 tuners. Except for the ignital cost, the monthly fees for any box is the same. All you got to remember is to correctly divide the two SWiM16 ports so that only 8 tuners are on each leg.

Well how do I isolate my HR24 from the rest of the system? or, the perfect setup would be the Genie and clients cannot see my HR24 but I can still access recordings on the Genie..is that possible? Btw, my HR24 is in my bedroom and is also the point where I have my router so I have a Deca that connects into the power supply and my router.

I could be wrong, but what I think Drucifer is suggesting is DVRs for your daughter's and granddaughter's room instead of clients/HR25s. Give them their own storage for their own shows.
