why can't we have a FULL TIME FSN Wisconsin on Directv?

A.) You brought up the Twins, no one else hacked into your post and did it for you.

B.) You're right, I dont pay "extra" for my sports channels. However, the part that you don't seem to grasp is if they weren't available and all they had were the games of the teams that play on them I wouldn't be whining about it. I'd go to another provider if it were that much of a life & death issue to me like you make this out to be.

C.) Repeatedly, I have said I AM NOT A RAYS FAN! In fact, let's go a step further...the following are the teams in Florida: Heat, Magic, Rays, Marlins, Lightning, Panthers, Jaguars, Bucs, and Dolphins. Of those teams, guess how many of them I like and get to see WITHOUT paying extra: Magic & Marlins (they are my 2nd favorite team behind the Braves). I have to pay for NFL ST to see the Jaguars every week because they aren't shown a lot here, I have to pay for MLB EI to see the Braves, NBA LP to see the Hawks, and NHL CI to see **gasp** the FLORIDA PANTHERS! That's right, we don't get them even though they are in our state. And on top of that, I DO get FSN Florida or whatever channel they come on without paying for sports pack and they black it out. Therefore, I order a sports package to see them. I don't cry about it on a message board about how I live here and shouldn't have to pay for it. Then when people explain it to you over and over again with the facts you turn it around on us claiming it's because we have whatever it is you seem to think makes our lives so much better with D* that we don't care about what you don't have. The only people you seem to like are those who sympathize with your position.

I have no idea about FSN Wisconsin. You know D* doesn't offer it or whatever the case is with that. If a local provider does, go with them.

D.) No one said you HAD to sub to a DVR service. But again, someone offers a solution and you don't like it because you'd rather make yourself into some poor victim being mistreated by Directv and us. Again, if you really want this channel THAT BAD, then go with a provider who has it.

E.) As much as you don't like this, access to FSN Wisconsin, FSN Florida, Sunsports, Twins, NFL Sunday Ticket, GSN, CBS, etc is not a right. Directv makes business decisions based on whatever criteria they use. It's a criteria which seems to be working for them since they make a whole lot of money. They will add something when they get the clearance and capacity to do so if they feel it is worth doing. However, if you feel it is a right you can always contact your local congressman. There's a lot of things that pass as rights these days that aren't so perhaps you can get this one through as well.

Money talks. If DirecTV's executives thought a full-time channel would bring in more revenue, they would. At this point, it doesn't make sense to do so for those who want to see the pre-game and post-game shows and replays.

If this issue is so important, switch to cable. DISH doesn't carry FSN Wisconsin.

If you're intent on seeing the Brewers replays, get a DVR and it doesn't become an issue.

You have several issues with DirecTV. You obviously aren't satisfied by what the company is doing at the current time. Vote with your dollars instead.

I restarted it because i took a break to collect my thoughts... no one cares about WI nationally. I'm sorry to tell you that. I know you won't agree. And i don't mean any disrepect by it. But you are too small. Yes - it is a privilege of living in much larger, more populated states or cities that we get more attention from a TV perspective. But that's pretty much the way it is for everything - more people means more stuff (good and bad). People that live in smaller states and towns don't have the same things that people that live in larger ones do. And before you say its all about ratings blah blah blah - you don't get the draw for the brewers that you think you do. In fact - the Rays you maligned have more total viewers than you, and you ever so slightly edge our the Marlins.

D* has limited resources and they are prioirtizing larger markets over yours. You don't like it, that's fine. But it is what it is man.

dude we covered this already... local ratings are meaningless as a national comparison point. 1 pt of local rating in LA represents a lot more households than 1 pt of rating in Wisconsin. You're still too small. Directv is in the business of putting channels on their system that the greatest number of people will watch, not channels that a high percentage of people in a small/mid city with no national appeal will watch.

I think it's hysterical the OP shows the ratings for FS Wisconsin ......................

...................... on the one, single, solitary program he can actually watch ! ! !

In Milwaukee, that doesn't cover the rest of the state.. it doesn't even cover Waukesha, Racine,Kenosha , or the Fox Valley, nor Dane County.. and that's per game..
you have to take the outlying areas and the whole state into account as well.

Take it up with D*. There the ones who make the agreements. Not us! It isn't like WE are keeping you from getting your precious FSN Wisconsin.

Yes. Cause no other teams get watched in a region.

Dude, the games are on live. Those 62,000 households are getting the game.

bjlc, dude there are several FSN "sub channels" on D* that are only active for live game programming as most of the time the programming on these sub channels mirror their parent FSN.

I'm a Royals fan and could care less that FS Kansas City is only "live" during a Royals game and in the Twitter & smart phone world, why would you waste your time on a replay? If I miss a Royals game, no big deal, box scores are posted online within minutes of a game being over and can get a recap on Twitter using the hashtag of "Royals".

    It's still too small.

You just aren't big enough to warrant that type of considersation - not becuase you aren't important - but because it doesn't make any financial sense for D* to pay all that money for a channel that a comparatively small number of people are going to watch compared to its other full time RSN channels

Not sure if people realize this but FSNorth is televised in FSWisconsin territory unless a Twins event is showing.
So I compared the listings to see what I was missing without my FS Wisconsin being full time:
    http://www.foxsportswisconsin.com/pages/tvlisting
    http://www.foxsportsnorth.com/pages/tvlisting
Many shows are duplicates, but I'm missing the Brewer replays, some "up north" hunting and fishing shows, and local amateur sporting events.
I actually sort of understand why the OP thinks it would be nice if it was a full time channel.

I don't think any of us were disputing that it would be nice. We were attempting to explain to him for the umpteenth time why it hasn't happened and likely why it won't. and some of us even suggested alternatives that'll get him what he wants. to no avail.

He's not the only that's not happy about the way D* handles FS-Wisconsin. It irks me that I can't watch any of the high school championships becasue the channel is only live for Brewers and Bucks games.

Agreed as well! i mean i would be grateful if they (Directv) at the very least show the WIAA championips for the other sports as they already do for football on the overflow channel (669)
