Nick, why don't you attach a full-size pic of your avatar so we can fully appreciate the scope and detail of your dream HarloT. :D

No offense ment, but harlot was the only HT term I could come up with. :)

I picked mine, a Mayan glyph for the word "c'am" (close to my name Sam), and it means "Thread" which I thought was appropriate for these threaded discussion forums, as there wasn't a glyph for "online discussion forum about satellite issues and Janet's breast exposing" :D

No offensement to you either, Jim. I am glad that you explained the HT connection so I wouldn't feel compelled come after you to protect my babe's honor. I'm in a fiesty mood tonight, not my usual mellowed-out self - just ask Lee. :sure:

Here is the source for my inspiration which I saw in a Widescreen Review advertisement a few years back.

I love the ceiling, projector enclosure, Cherry wood cabinets, Wall Carpet, risers for the chairs, and Lighting (looks like something Epcot would have.)

The only things I would change would be the chairs (either leather or a darker fabric), and the floor carpet (also something darker).

I plan on having a small access hallway behind the screen for easy access to wiring, and some extra storage (I have about 3000 CDs, 250 DVDs, 100 Laserdiscs, and about 500 LPs) for all of the media I have acquired over the last 25 years.

I don't need a boat, I don't vacation often, I rarely eat out, and I don't have extravagant tastes so this is the one major luxury I plan for myself in this lifetime. Everyone needs SOMETHING to work for to justify the daily dose of aggravation they receive. This will be mine. Possible additions which would be behind the camera might be a bar, a pinball machine, a popcorn machine, or a fishtank behind the bar (I'd have to figure out a way to cut down on the hum of the tank). (There is a little 8 x 8 dogleg in the rear right corner of the room that would be perfect for these potential items) Right now my 24 x 20 garage is the most likely location for this room. I plan to build another garage on the other side of the small hallway behind the projector screen. I plan to build another hallway behind where the movie posters are in the photo to act as an access hallway for the new garage (I could also put some more family photos or movie posters in that hallway. It would also provide more soundproofing so I can "feel" the James Bond movie while the kiddies are sleeping at the other end of my house (a ranch style where the bedrooms are at the opposite end of where my garage is now). My current 12 x 24 TV room (a former breezeway) would be converted into a dining room, which steps up into the kitchen, my old dining room (which was too small), would be absorbed into the kitchen which would be made larger when the wall is knocked down. I would like to put a second floor on to build a master bedroom suite, my daughter would move into the old master bedroom (12 x 20) downstairs (she's in a small 12 x 14 room now), and my daughter's old room would become a guest room/home office hybrid.

I've had plenty of time to agonize over the details, I just haven't had the confidence to add $1000 to my monthly mortgage payment to pay for it (although we currently spend $800 for daycare expenses ($700 for my 4 year old's preschool and $100 for my fourth grader's aftercare until we pick him up at 5:15), that will drop to $200 once my daughter hits full time school. I will then start plowing the money into savings to finance my project.

OK, half the job is done as I've visualized what I want. Now I just have that pesky task of actually spending money to build the thing..............

I like college football and Division 1AA for their playoff system. Georgia Southern is in my hometown of Statesboro and I have been a fan since they started football again in 1981. BTW it doesnt hurt that my wife is the admin asst at the football office either.

It should be obvious with mine, because I figured it was appropriate for the forums and satellite is my hobby.

OK, you shamed me into making an avatar.

This is the Orion Nebula, also called M42, my favorite object to look at in my telescope. It is about 1500 light years way, making it the nearest stellar nursery. There are 1000's of new stars being formed or recently formed (less than 10 million years old) in this giant gas cloud. At the heart of it are 4 stars, called the Trapezium, that are 3 to 5 times the mass of our sun. The more massive the sun, the brighter it is, and these are 10,000 times as bright as our sun.

For the longest time, I just had the Chicago Bears' "C" as my avatar.

I know, my team sucks...but that's not why I changed my avatar.

    Simply put:

    It's Britney.

Yeah, yeah, say what you will about her being a "slut" / the like, but at the end of the day...she's still nice to look at. :sure:

    Any objections? ;)

Actually, I don't think she's all that great. I could never understand the attention she gets. There's lots better out there. I even know a few. Of course, part of my view might be based on the fact that I still think of her as a little kid, since that's when I first saw her on Star Search. But, she's a bottle blonde; her eyes are not especially pretty; her body is good, but nothing great; she just likes to reveal a lot of it. She does look nice as your avatar, though. Better than mine. :)
