    Here's the situation:

Currently have a SWM 8 and wb68 that I purchased on my own and did a self install with.

Currently have 5 HR2X's (4 being fed by the SWM with one wire and one by the wb68 with two wires). I also have a HR10-250 that is dying. The HR10-250 is currently in a room with only one wire one, so it currently only has one turner activated. I'm going to replace that with and HR2X and want to use both tuners. Will directv install a SWM16 for me without an install charge if I have 6 HR2x's? Or will they want to charge for an install and I'm better off buying (leasing) an HR24 from solid signal and buy a SWM16 from somewhere.

When I called they offered a Whole Home DECA install, but they wanted the full 149 for the install, and offered me a free high def receiver of half off an HD-DVR. Seemed to be a bit much for me.

Just trying to see the experiences here before I go through the painful CSR process again. Thanks for your help.

    Short answer, IT SHOULD!

However, I make no promises that the tech who comes out will have the correct equipment with him in order to complete the install. The genius who came out to do my house (I have 6 HR2x's) came out of the truck carrying 2 8-way splitters and said that two together make a SWM-16 :nono2:

Since a SWM8 plus a WB68 will feed up to 8 DVRs, Directv probably won't replace them with a SWM16 unless you are upgrading to WHDVR.
