    I'll consider that a threat, Tom :).

Threat? Nah, just some fun. ;)

In seriousness, we are expecting our first release of software to be pushed this weekend. So we don't have to download on our PC playback receivers.

And if you have any last minute moving or networking of those receivers to do, today is a good day. :)

Any idea of a time frame? Was considering watching something off the DVR this evening or next and might go pretty late.

Will it wait till the unit is not in use or will it pop up and ask if I want to apply it.

    Thanks

No, there is no time frame.

But you will get prompted with a "do you want to download now" option.

    Kocuba,

DIRECTV can send in a couple ways, often it will pop up and ask. What I do on the field trials is stop what I'm watching for a moment and let it do its thing. (Time to get another diet pepsi and some more pretzels.)

That said, if you have a busy recording schedule tonight, you might try to watch the forums. I'm sure one of us will post when it starts. I believe I have missed one window due to a recording shedule.

    Cheers,
    Tom

And if I say No, how long till it prompts again? Just curious.

I am just curious.... Did we get a little peak at this on last weekends CE? With the ability to see the HR20 on our computer and it would bring up an message in internet explorer?

What if I am out partying? (I've got a friend in from Germany) will it go ahead and download if I'm not there to say yes, or should I put the blackberry on the most obnoxious and loudest ring I can to remind me to go home after the announcement gets posted?

Yes it will still download. It will be pushed to us just like a national release update. You will get that pop up so you can stop it if you are watching TV. But if you are not the message will go away after a minute or so and start downloading.

Nope, no version numbers in your setups for awhile. (I gave that up a long time ago.) :)

Yes, actually we mods are asking that you keep signatures down to 4 lines of size 1 text or something equivalent. Feel free to link to your setup as I have.
