Nightly news has this story about a time traveler and a cell phone
    Long video

    The two min version

So even if you were to accept time travel, how would a cell phone work without the cell phone tower//network?

I viewed this earlier today. I'm going with the hearing aid device that was used in that era.

You got it backwards. They're making the films here and sending them back in time.

PS. That is sarcasm for any people that think any of this stuff is real.

And there have been people taking the time to do a bit of sleuthing, and found a very probable device being used.

If it wasn't this, it certainly is really close.

Though, I must say those are really big shoes. What's funny is some think that is actually Tesla.

No way, it's obviously a time traveler.

That Siemens stuff is a plant by someone trying to cover their tracks now that this has come to light.

did you see the way that lady looked at the camera? She knew she was busted. They've been waiting 80 years for someone to discover her on that film. Waiting and ready with their cover-up plan.

Do not let them sway you. Do not buy into it.

    Time travel is real.

By the size of her shoes, I think she has really big ears as well.

Kind of a leap to think there were no people that walked around talking to themselves back then.

Somewhere the original film exists that was transferred to the DVD.
That is what I'd like to see.

I have no reason to doubt this, but I guess there might be a blurry line between a 2-way radio and a phone.
They used the hydrant for a ground and the umbrella for the antenna. Sure looks like a crystal radio of the day.

Very forward looking ... both the idea of "won't hubby have a time when he gets one" (Alluding to the ability to hen peck a husband wherever he is and not give him a moment's rest? Or perhaps he too will enjoy the ability to connect any time?) and the idea of using the phone for more than talking (mobile streamed media player ... hey, it is a gramaphone but they are listening on their portable phone!).

The idea was there. The idea of putting people in capsules and sending them to the moon predated the actual space program by decades.

And if this phone worked in 1922 then I'm sure technology advanced by 1928 to where the "Time Traveler" could use a nearby fireplug as an antenna back to the operator without connecting the wire. That explains where the cell tower was. On every street corner. :)

Once, I was going to use a fire hydrant for a good ground, but a dog got there first.

    Doggone it! :grrr:

    It's Jacob.

Oh, and if time travel technology and the ability to communicate through time exists, you'd think the communication device would be smaller than an 80's mobile phone.
