In all likelyhood, it looks like I'm going to have to buy one instead of requesting an installer out to install one for me. I've already got the set up but in a few more weeks, I'm going to have to close the cottage and bring home my HR20-100 receiver. I currently have a HR20-700 and a H20 receiver in this house and plan to put H20 in my "Home Theater" room where I already have an existing cable there for the receiver (last year, my other H20 was there while I took another H20 receiver to the cottage for the bedroom). So, I already have four cables running into the house but will need to add another for the HR20-100 to go into the living room.

I checked Best Buy on-line and I do not see the multi-switch available (Zinwell WB68). Am I going to have to order one on-line? If that's the case, can someone direct me to the web site, please?
    Thanks in advance.

Ok, I have been having problems with getting the 771 signal on only one tuner randomly. So, last night I went looking into the panel where all my wires are and I have the following multi-switch:

    Zinwell SAM-6802
    Lot: 50905

I have no idea what any of these numbers mean. Is this the correct multi-switch? Or do I need to get a new one?

Any help would be appreciated. My wife wants to murder me, since I wanted to get HD. And now that she is hooked on it, she gets frustrated when something she wants to watch in HD just comes up with 'Searching for Satellite 771' or whatever it says.

That switch is not compatible, you need the WB68.

Well, I guess it is good in the sense that this is the probably the problem, and not the cables, etc.

So, is it just a matter of buying this new one and just swapping out the cables from the old one? Or are there differences in the inputs/outputs as to where the wires go?

If you got upgrade w/ the free professional installation from D*. Getting the HD reciever and 5-LNB dish, then there is a good chance you can call D* and tell them what's up and should come out and replace the switch for free since they should have to begin with.

    Good Luck.

It is straight forward replacing the multi-switch. The 4 outputs from the dish go to the 4 inputs of the Zinwell WB68. They DO NOT go into the Flex ports of the WB68.

    Are you using OTA antenna?

Thanks. I think I did get the free upgrade thing back in April...but of course I didn't realize what they were doing. I just wanted to watch TV.

No I am not using OTA. I live in the Washington, DC DMA and I just get my local HD's through the satellite.

You're in good shape, then. As Sprtsfan said, it will be a straight swap.

OK...just checking. That removes a variable that keeps it simpler for you.
