Earl shut sdown most of the other 0x104 discussions, so maybe people can post here when they start receiving new software( other than left coast). We east costers are anxious.

I hope before the weekend, but I dont have a warm and fuzzy feeling.

I know you are all waiting for it... and if everything goes as expected, you should have it soon.

The next few days and the weekend are the "key" to when the release will go national.

I wish they had some setting we could flip that would allow some of us who want it a first release status. :D But I understand the reasoning.

I'm actually as excited about the possible closed captioned fix as I am the OTA. If both of these things work as they should, I will be a very very happy camper.

I could not care less about OTA - I'm between 30 and 40 miles from the towers and although the terrain is mostly level, they're on different ridges around Nashville so that optimizing for one station would negatively impact reception on the others. The heck with that; that just brings me back to the glory days of the 1960's with a big antenna and rotor strapped to the side of the house. No thank you, that's what the shiny, space-age dish is for after all, in my mind.

What I DO want is increased stability, NO "unwatchable"/black-screen recordings and no GUI lockups. I'm very happy with my MPEG4 HD locals (most of the time. CSI:NY was kind of sketchy last night), I love the MPEG2 HD nationals . . . I just want to be able to rely on it, day after day. So if anyone wants to flip a switch and send 0x104 down to Nashville, sign me up!

Bonscott,

If they want a midwesterner, they should send it to me in Tornado Alley, not you in the Land of Way Too Damn Cold.....
LOL. And the Land of Lake Effect Snow that Never Stops. One thing Earl doesn't need to worry about too much over on the other side of the big lake. :D

Actually, I live probably somewhere close to you as well. For what it is worth, I put up a channelmaster 4228 and using the tuner on my TV, I was able to get all HD channels from Nashville with fairly decent signal strength, and no rotor was needed. I am hoping the signal may even be better with the HR20 as I am reading the tuners are supposed to be pretty good. I am excited that I won't have to rely on MPEG-4 now, since it seems to have issues from time to time. Hopefully though they will get it fixed soon. Hope the update comes our way soon.

Since I am on the West Coast, in the past I have received the early rollout. So, either it didn't get pushed OR (more likely) it's not even all west coasters this time. I don't have it.

I didn't get it either in Livermore, so the release has been blacked out in the tri-valley. (probably something to do with the lab . . .)

Just tried the Force and got a re-load of 00FA. Ah well.

I can see the sense in a slow rollout, but I think D* chose the wrong approach. I suggest they rollout to Newbies first. We have a whole lot fewer gripes (or a whole lot more). Either way we're the ideal testers. Send it on!

If it helps any, means anything as far as when, I am in California and do not have it yet. I don't esp care as OTA doesn't matter to me, but thought I wuld throw it out that not even all west coasters have it yet

We need to have a graphic of America is gradually fills in in starting on the west coast. Maybe we could use that google program where you place a push pin to show where you are from to track where the current release is? Anyone have any experience setting one those up?

Yeah, I can see if I can whip something up but I'm not sure I'll be able to manage it. Any volunteers?

Are you talking about the google thing or the graphic?

I have some experience with Google Maps. Only problem is I don't have the web space to host such a thing. Also, I've never made one where people can update their own points so if I made it, someone would have to add points to individually.
