has anybody heard when the new dish 1000.2 is coming out. I'm tired of the 34 switch for installs with more than 2 recvrs
doesn't anybody have some kind of idea. I know engineers and poeple who work for dish on this site would have some kind of responce and the only one i get is a dpp33. I don't think that any switch would be better than an lnb with one built in, are you kidding you have two seperate lnb's now with a patch line running from one to the other. more than two recvrs you have to run three seperate lines to a 34 switch and change the plus twin to a dptwin which dish never figures in to there workorders. SO i'll ask again when is the 1000.2 coming out ????? no dpp33 would be better. SORRY but think dude. to many connections in and out pain in a butt and all the more that can go wrong.

no not the 1000+ I know what that dish is, basically the new super dish with the 118.7 location on it for the fss signal.

There is a new 1000 dish coming out. with one lnbf with 3 sat head like the directv dish. only it is plus technoligy three outputs one input from a second dish.
It will get the 110,119,129 sats. now does anyone have an idea on its release. the dish model is 1000.2

I heard today from a Dish tech, that the 1000.2 is released. He told me it won't tune with a channel master. I asked why and he didn't know. He's pretty green so until I see one I can't tell anymore. I hope it works with a birdog. Plus technology, able to run 3 dual tuners, plus has an input, 61.5/148. I wonder if it would read fss sats, but here you go again more dishes to mount.

Sat Tech,

I am scheduled for an install this Thursday, February 8, 2007. I live in Corinth, TX (about 25 minutes north of Dallas). My emailed confirmation I received from DISH indicates that this is the equipment that will be installed:

Dish 1000.2 KIT
DISH 1000.2 KIT
DISH 500
Leased VIP622 System

As I said, I am scheduled for this Thursday, February 8. I am not sure at this point why the DISH 500 is listed on there. The 1000 should pick up the necessary satellites to give me all the HD channels, HD locals, etc... as I am sure you are aware. I don't know if this means it is out, or will be out then, or what, but thats what I got from E*.

That's what my confirmations states as well. Getting mine installed this afternoon. Called them back to ask if I'm getting multiple dishes and was told no, that's just the way it's coded internally, or some such thing. Getting the DVR HD Advantage with a 622 along with a 211 for an upstairs HD set. And I'm not getting any International channels.

I don't see why it wouldn't, I used my Birdog to aim my 1000+, I don't see why it wouldn't see the Phase 2 (1000.2), especially if you update the Birdog prior to installing.

Well the installer was out yesterday, but I've got too many trees in the way, so no dish for me. Stuck with cable.....
Maybe a pole set out in the yard, with a trench for some cables back to the house will help with the line-of-sight issues. Just enough to clear the trees. You'll have to pay extra for it, but it may be worth it for something other than cable. :icon_cool

I would never do this myself, but I have seen people mount their dishes in the tops of those trees that are in the way....

Unfortunately I'm in a townhouse, so my install location is limited. He actually said he could mount it on a pole past the trees without a problem, but that would be in a common area, and I'm sure I'd get a letter from the association pretty quick.

I saw the tech video this week at an ATM. The Sat Buddy is the only meter for the 1000.2 according to what the demo said. Because the lnb runs a higher voltage. Been checking the Birdog site, and haven't seen anything as of yet about the 1000.2 there, either.

I just learned this about the 1000.2.
According to this, you can use your channel master but you might have to have the receiver hooked up first.

If the peaking meter does not produce at least 600 mA to power the DPP 1000.2 LNBF, connect PORT 2
of the LNBF to the SATELLITE IN port of a powered receiver to provide LNBF power while peaking.
