hello all,
completed my own DN setup and after a lot of tinkering / fine tuning, was able to get a 73 on the 119 signal. Problem is, the 118.7 signal is showing at 11. Cannot get any channels to work. This is a Dish 1000+ setup where the switch is built into the LNBs.
When I go to System Info, I get ALL 4 greens unders 119, 110, 118, 129.

Checking Signal Strenght right now, and am getting:
66-70 for 119 West
0-12 for 118

When I go to the Check Switch screen it says:

Then there are boxes. One says: SuperDISH, other says Alternate. Should any of them be selected?

Is this just a pointing issue? I got a cheap Satellite Signal finder from Radio Shack to help me install this, but I just can't get it any better...

Any tips / pointers would be highly appreciated... I don't even know if I have the correct settings to get everything working properly on the receiver. Everytime I switch between hindi channels, I always get either a partial signal loss error or a complete signal loss error...

Please help...

What LNBs are you using? You'd need the 1000.4 WA LNB plus a 118 sidecar if I'm not mistaken.

The LNB I purchased has the following description:

The DISH Pro Plus (DPP) 500+ LNBF is a new LNBF for use in Western Arc (WA) installations that include core and international programming. The DPP 500+ LNBF uses DISH Pro Plus technology to simplify installations. Like the current DP 500+ LNBF, the DPP 500+ receives signal from the 110°, 118.7°, 119° and 129° orbital locations with the additional bracket and LNBF. The improvement to the new DPP 500+ over the DP 500+ is the integrated switch. The DPP 500+ supports up to 3 dual tuner receivers with no external switch required.

So this is what I have.

So I did have the extra LNB that is attached using the provided bracket. I pretty much followed the instructions that are in the picture provided in the 2nd link...

Signal has dropped to 64. but the 118 went up to 20... Weird...

Just sounds like a pointing issue to me. Plus dishes are hard to peak properly without a good satellite meter so you can watch the 118 signal - it's quite finicky. Which skew bracket do you have for the dish? Does it have the fine adjustments for the azimuth and elevation? If so try just having someone inside watching 118 TP 1 and yelling out the window to you as you use the azimuth fine adjustment.

yes. it has the fine adjustments for the elevation. I'm not sure about the azimuth. I guess that's what i'll have to do for now. adjust it myself...
Was scared that somethign else might be wrong...

Yeah, sounds like a fine tuning thing to me too, then. Finicky is right.
