Dish 500 does not give you 118, you would need the Dish 500+. It would also give 119 so if you get a dvr receiver you could have the 9 day guide.

Also... worth noting... the Dish 500+ also has the 110 assembly as part of it I'm pretty sure... so you align for 118/7/119 and you get 110 as a bonus too.

Then the add-on arm gets you 129... so frankly there's no real reason not to basically be on the full western arc even if all you think you need is 118.7.

I would say 118 does have an EPG, at Transponder 7? If you get the identification channel (Congratulations you are watching ......satellite) that should mean an EPG is there. That message is on 119, 118, 61.5.

They would be Cedar Rapids, sd on 119, HD on 129. If he want HD locals, a 1000+ dish should work.

DISH has placed a copy of the two day EPG on each satellite location. The longer nine day guide is only available on 119 and 72.7.

Are you redistributing the feeds via a cable system? One would not need the EPG to do that ... however one would need a commercial account and pay the appropriate subscription.

This is an existing commercial account. Contractor removing extra 3m dishes got a little gung ho and removed the two dishnet antennas too. We just had the second dish installed less than a year ago to accommodate a satellite move for the Intl programming. We still have all hardware.
seems that the two dishes were inter connected, or that there was a jumper between two ports on one lnb, no external multiswitch.
Recievers are old 311s. Standard def only, just these two channels, no guide, don't care about any other programming until these networks go HD only.
Wish I had model numbers of the lnbs.
This happened late yesterday and we want to try to restore programming while waiting for our Dish representative to get back to us.
Let this be a lesson for the rest of you to document your installs for the next guy. (and maybe flag items not to be razed during a construction project)

Thanks for all the ideas. We remounted our 500+ dish, and were able to re-aim without too much trouble. Second dish was at 61.5, so we didn't bother reconnecting it. everything working again.

If you have a working 61.5 dish you may want to keep it as a backup for TV Japan (if it's still on 61.5, it was the last time my 61.5 dish was hooked up).

TV Japan is 118 only ... but it does have a HD feed (also on 118).

We have a SMATV property with a 118 dish that is hooked up to a 311 for TV Japan (still not sure why). While there are other dishes and receivers on site this dish and receiver are isolated from the other dishes. TV Japan supplied the dish and LNB.

Just curious, when was it removed from 61.5? The last time I had 61.5 hooked up was during the Tsunami/Earthquake meltdown. I was able to watch coverage during the free previews. IIRC they expanded the free views during the disaster coverage.

BTW: Do they still do the daily free TV Japan previews on 118?

The slate channel ("This Channel Has Moved") was removed from 61.5 on 1/25/12 at 5:31pm ET.
