You will have a lot of trouble getting 129 in Phily (the entire Northeast is not a good area for 129) also the HD locals are on 61.5 only.

The HD channels would have the same picture quality on both but 61.5 does have a stronger signal strength but you need a separate dish to get 61.5. 129 is not viewable in Phily, you need to go with 61.5. Your setup needs to be a Dish 500 for 119 and 110 and a separate dish for 61.5.

61.5 is not that hard to point, use of a dtv dish with a modifacation should work. Most just use another Dish 500 dish using only one lnb and setting the skew to 90. Using a Dish 1000 is just overkill.

garys i already have the 1000.2 on the roof. i was trying 2 get the 129 sat but could. so i put the 119 n 110 back on the dtv circular. so i have the 1000.2 just mounted there lol can i pull the 61.5 onthe 1000.2 n connect it 2 the dtv circular 4 the 119 n 110? thnx again bud

Use the Dish 1000 to get 110 and 119 and use the smaller dish to get 61.5.

Back when Dish was putting "minor" local channels on a different satellite slot, Philadelphia's extra channels came from 129°.

And to answer your question. No you can not use a 1000.2 to get the 61.5. You can't even use the 1000.2 reflector to get the 61.5 (or any other single bird for that matter) unless you remove the extra bolts on the skew plate. You can use a 300, 500, 1000, or a Super Dish. The 500 would be the normal choice, but if you can find one a Super Dish would pull on the strongest signal. I'm using one to pull a 75 out of the 129 on the modified signal meter. As soon as I can track down some masts the other two birds will be the same configuration.

I had Philly locals at that time, I could not get nor would dealer even try to give me 129 as a location.

I'm even shocked that somebody from Philly even has satellite! (It's called the long and crazy PRISM-Comcast SportsNet-terrestrial exception debacle. It's rather complex and has to do with microwave infrastructure for an old regional premium network. That folded in the mid-90s because their sports coverage was bought up. Comcast SportsNet became of that - and it uses the PRISM infrastructure.)

I use a Dish 18" "Dish 300" for 61.5 and it works fine. Just be sure the LNB matches what you use for 119/110 (i.e. if your 119/110 used DP or DPP you have to use a DP LNB for 61.5). If your 119/110 are "legacy" you can use a D* LNB for 61.5 (excluding a "sat C kit" LNB)
