Joe Buck just mentioned during the promo for the Directv HD Starship (the blimp) during the MLB All-Star game that "Directv will have 130 of your favorite channels in HD this summer". I realize that most of us know that we are going to be getting more HD when D11 lights up, but this is the first confirmation of a number I've heard in any Directv advertising or promotion.

someone said they also heard that in the directv tv commercial thats spoofs the helicopter t-1000 scene from terminator 2....but i saw that commercial and they didnt say it....unless there is a longer version of it as well.

Hmm, well that's 35 channels more than they list now. That's pretty close to the number the "national hd channels not yet carried" thread. They only have about two months to do it if they want to get them by "this summer".

yea must be different adds then cause i had it on a dvrd show so i just watched it again and there was no mention of it at the end.

...and he even screwed that up...he was supposed to say "over 130 HD channels" and instead said "up to 130 HD channels" - or at least that's what's being reported in another thread.

I guess having to read typed copy is a major challenge at a sporting event for certain announcers... :lol:

This is all true (as you know by now).

I was at the XM Future's Game at Yankee Stadium on Sunday the 13th and if you went to get food from a consession stand, they gave you a cardboard holder to place the food and drink in. The whole thing was light DirecTv blue with writing all over it claiming 130 HD channels coming this summer.

True story.
