If your second TV has a HD DVR already but it cannot do 3d then yes. If you do not then you will have to call them to see what the pricing would be for you. It would come with a 2 year agreement.

I have 1 3d capable dvr but am adding a second 3d tv. Will dtv give me a free upgrade on my second box and will it require a 2 yr commitment?

What is your second box currently? Yes, my other box is an HR20. I don't want a new commitment so I'll have to hope the HR20 fails sooner or later.

They will exchange an HR20 for a 3D capable HR for no commitment extension and N/C.
If you hook your HR20 up to a 3D TV you will get a code on screen, with an error about not being 3D capable.
