I just noticed on DTV's website the price for the 2012 season is $300 which includes Sunday-Ticket-To-Go. I must say that, as a first-time sub last season, the fact that the cost is actually going down this year has me very excited! Any ideas what the renewal rate will be? I'm guessing a little cheaper than the posted $300 rate but not sure since this will be my first renewal.

I wonder if a lower list price means fewer discounts for those who ask for them? I sure hope not, because I probably wouldn't pay full price even at $300.
I'm willing to pay roughly half that, but no more. Not sure that I've ever paid much over $150.

Are you looking at the price on that page or somewhere on your account information? I'm not sure the price on that page changes depending on whether you're logged in.
I logged in. Sunday Ticket and ST to Go are listed as services I have, then there is a new option you can purchase called Sunday Ticket Ultimate which is $300 and covers the usual programming, plus to go and includes PS3 access that way if you want it.

Thanks... not sure how I missed that before.

I wonder if I should select that now or wait for auto-renewal. Surely there's no downside to waiting for renewal, right?
Probably not. I just want to pay it now and get it over with. September is a bad time for us financially because my wife gets shorted on her first paycheck when school starts back, plus tag renewal is then, plus something else. I think we've decided when we get our tax return we are going to go ahead and do the 1 time payment.

I'll wait till August and see what kind of Deal I can get. Last year I paid $48, which is the most I've ever paid.

With NFL Network increasing its Thursday night package it's become clear why they dropped the price, less games.
Also, I wonder if DirecTV has to pay the same amount to the NFL to carry ST? Seems the price should go down a little. I would be really mad if I'm at DirecTV about all this. :)

The NFL is seriously running the risk of over saturation of the market. I know they have a 24 hour network and the games air on that but I'm sure I'm not the only one who pays no attention to that network after this Sunday, and only pays them any attention on Sundays and Mondays during the regular season. Now another prime time game nearly every week? There is such thing as too much of a good thing.

Maybe, but with the ratings the NFL pulls I really don't think they have much to worry about. Look at the Pro Bowl, it's basically a scrimmage and still pulls in 12.5 million. I like Thursday night games because even with Sunday Ticket there are too many games on to watch them all, so spreading them out allows them me to see more.

Plus with all the channels these days if you are not interested in the game you can always turn on something else. I actually like the NFL channels programming during the week (in season). NFL Total Access and Around the League Live have some really good segments, MUCH better than espn. jmo

In my personal opinion, color bars is much better programming than most everything on ESPN.
