There is a menu option to shut it off (sort of) or set it to a 4-5-6-7-8 hour delay.
The overnight reboot will go to screen saver when complete.
Set an auto-tune timer to turn "on" the receiver after the reboot.
For really important shows set an auto-tune timer for what you want to record.
