3 recordings vanish - any way to recover?

570 Views 5 Replies 4 Participants Last post by  thread
I recorded 3 shows last night and when I went to watch them it immediately asked me if I wanted to delete them. I tried all three shows and it ended up doing the same thing. So I hit the trusty little red button to reboot. After the reboot all three recordings are gone from the playlist but they are listed as recorded under the history.

Is there anyway to recover or view these recordings? Please let me know if anybody has had success recovering one of these "lost" recordings.

Thanks,

Sorry, they're gone. Welcome to the unwatchable bug. Your best bet is to get your hands on an old reliable TiVo to catch all the programs your HR20 will miss like this. Its been good for at least 2 unwatchables a week. If you don't have a reliable DVR to back this one up, your best bet is to red button reset every couple of days. This keeps the frequency of unwatchables down to maybe one a week.

I had this happen a long time ago but this problem hasn't popped up in quite some time. It was also acting sort of weird because the guide had become pedestrian like the HR10-250. After the reset, the quide was flying again. Weird stuff. I had some minor problems with the box at the very beginning but the updates had taken care of that stuff. I hope this thing gets back to being reliable.
I have had these problems on a regular basis ever since 10/7 when I got the HR20. The only thing I have found that seems to ward off most unwatchables is if I can remember to reset the HR20 once every week at least.
I recently got this too. . .on a bunch of recorded shows. Anyone know if this is fixed in one of the newer releases?
