After 1 week of keeping my 301 off when out of the house, still no upgrade, tonight got home and no such luck either. Then I remembered that just pressing the 301s power off from the front switch was not a true "Front Panel Power Off" as when you turn it on you don't get the finding satellite.

Well I held the front panel power off button in for about 6 seconds and when released it restarted with the "Finding Signal", so that was tooo much. But then I held it off for 4 seconds and it was off, left the room for about 10 minutes. Powered it back on and VOILA, my locals were in chan 2-69.

I'm guessing this may be delaying the rollout to the rest of the 301ers???

Hope this works for everyone

I tried just now and it didn't work. I am trying it again. I thought it was P170? Well I will wait 15 mins this time. I counted one one thousand.. etc. until 4 and let up on the button and it powered off. I too held it down too long and it did the acquiring signal.. oops

The receivers only have to be in standby mode to receive the software updates - i.e. pressing the power button on the remote. If you put the unit into standby and don't get the update, that means that they haven't gotton to your serial number yet. Be patient...it's coming. Just not all at once. If they were to roll this out all at once, the calls coming in would overload the call centers (or at least that's their reasoning).

I just checked both of my 301s, and have received the P156 update. Apparently, P156 does the channel mapping but no OpenTV, while P170 does have OpenTV portal. All of my locals are at the appropriate station spots, but not the supers (as expected).

My 501? Still stuck at P154.
