The 2008 Olympics are supposed to be from August 8 to August 24. If I allow for some extra - let's call it 18 days - the 3600 hours means 200 hours of coverage a day. You've listed 8 channels, so that means 25 hours of coverage per day per channel. You forced me to go to the futon critic to read the story:
With 25 sports streamed live at NBCOlympics.com and significant live coverage on our cable platforms and NBC, highlighted by all swimming finals, the biggest nights of gymnastics and beach volleyball live in primetime, the viewer has plenty of options for live coverage.
OK, got it. NBCOlympics.com can pick up the slack with multiple streams offered.
My problem is going to be emptying the HD DVR so I can record, like ALL of it! Except for stuff like fencing. Must have swimming, diving and ALL gymnastics
What about beach volleyball, fairy?
I want to watch equestrian and sailing!
CBC's (Canada) coverage is still 100x better than NBC's.

I long for the days when we could watch CBC coverage on our old C-band which we got just in time for the 1988 games.

Boring for me!

I have never watched Equestrian dbsconsultant, I will have to record one to see!
My DVR fingers are beginning to tingle!!!
I have to disagree about the premium to put on CBC coverage.

"Back in the day" I completely avoided American coverage in favor of the CBC because, as you said, Canada was 100x better.

Now, however, with a DVR, I can skip all the crappy stuff that NBC puts on and concentrate on just the sport aspect of it. So, now, I'd say that CBC coverage is only between two and five times better than NBC.

My favorites are the jumping and dressage. Dressage is fascinating because the rider controls the horse with no visible or audible commands.

During the last Olympics, most of the sailing and equestrian events was shown in the middle of the night so I was really glad we had dvr!
Wow, it's gonna drive us batty trying to figure which coverage is in blur-o-vision and which is HD as they keep switching between HD and SD channels. Hope the equestrian cross country is in HD!!!

I am so excited!!
