It's not duplicate discussions. That thread is about what we want or what will come, this thread is about what just happened.
If anything, the discussion about what was just added is appropriate for this thread and not for the other thread.

That said (and as I pointed out previously), the other thread is an anticipation thread about new channels in the future, but the last 1 1/2 pages of that thread mostly contains discussion on the channels we just got yesterday.

According to someone who called ION, they didn't sign the contracts yet, so it is on a....shall we say.... "legal delay".

So as for the new HD channels we just got....WOO HOO.
Several of these have been on the "wish list" in other threads for some time.
In previous threads, it became clear that BBC was a popular channel, and the HD channel version would be quite welcome. I saw similar discussions about Nat Geo Wild.
New HD channels are always a good thing....and these are no exception.

Yeah BBC America has always been the #1 for me to want in HD.
I just wish they would go back to more British original programming. Copper is looking to be really great and I will watch it.... and I love Top Gear, Doctor Who, and Graham Norton.
And although I am a pretty big fan of Star Trek, I can do without TNG. That show plays on multiple channels. Same with BSG, it is an awesome show, but both were really American/Canadian productions with a few British actors in them.
Shows I want them to show (again):
- Merlin (will they pick up the next season?)
- Law & Order: UK. (Is a series 7 coming?)
- Sherlock.
Not yet shown in the US:
- The thick of it. - Satire/Comedy about the British Government.
- The peep show. - Ran from 2003/2010 - Sitcom.
- The Fades. - Supernatural/Drama/Scifi type show. Only one season was done though.
