4900 Timer issue

Well, it's a new season, and already Dish's timer's for VCR recording don't match up to the show length. Recorded the premier of Curb Your Enthusiasm Sunday night off HBO-W, and last night watched the tape. The recording ended mid-scene with over a minute to go (I found this out by watching a later repeat of Curb... on Monday night, remembering where the tape had left off). Now, if that happened during the Soprano's I would have screamed, but it's bad enough ON ANY SHOW. I remember this happening several times last year also. On the other hand, movies never tend to end later than the VCR timer; they work quite well actually. Doesn't Dish know that a show runs 32 minutes long, and to set the block of time accordingly? Do I have to start manually setting timers one minute early and at least 3 minutes long (like the default PVR721 timers) for every show? That's very time-consuming as opposed to just scrolling to the show and hitting enter, enter. I'm sure this has to be happening to other people...

Short answer - yes.
Yes Steve, this has happened to me so many times, that I always set every recording to start 1 min early and end 2 or 3 minutes late (unless there is a conflict). It seems like the networks are doing this more and more lately.

It is quite a pain to have to do this. You have to select the show, choose to record one minute early, then re-select the show again so that you can edit the timer to end 3 minutes late. It's almost worth buying a 721 just to avoid this. :D
Why can't Dish just pay attention to the schedules that they themselves provide????
 It is not Dish's fault if the stations provide Dish with inaccurate programming data. Dish is just passing on through the program guide what HBO sends to them.

P.S. It's nice to know I'm not the only Danville resident here.
