Just wanted to share my experience with everyone on the boards. I just purchased a 50 ft HDMI Tin-Plated Copper CL2 Rated Cable (24AWG) (Gold Plated Connectors) from monoprice. I also purchased two HDMI wall plates:

HDMI Decora Style 1.3a Wall Plate with 4 inches built-in flexible extension cable - Single Port (1P) - White

Our HR20-100 is located in our family room on the main level of the house and I wanted to run this HDMI cable to our entertainment center in the basement. I did not purchase any amplified HDMI switch or anything to help "power" the connection. Just the 50 ft HDMI run with two 6 ft HDMI connectors and 2 HDMI wall plates. Rough total of 62 ft total run.

Everything came in and before I decided to drill anything into the walls I connected all the parts together and made a test run with all 62 ft running from the HR20-100 to the back of my Samsung LN52A650 52 inch LCD TV in the basement. Fired up the TV and everything works GREAT. :) I just wanted to share this feedback here on the boards because I know many people are concerned that they can't make a 50 ft run with HDMI without getting an amplified cable or splitter. I have a run of 62 ft total and have no problems at all.

Like many here I was concerned that a tin plated 24 AWG cable would have signal loss at 50 ft but I decided to give it a try anyway. All has worked out and I am pleased to share this good news. I put everything in the wall and connected everything up again and have been enjoying my HR20-100 on the big TV in the basement ever since.

I have been using a 50' cable to my panny projector for several years with no problems. It is also hooked up to component runs of the same length and HDMI is noticeably better, even though I am satisfied with the component (projector maxes out at 768).

Thanks for the info, oddly enough I was curious about this and was about to do the exact same thing. I got the HR21-100 yesterday and will run the 50 ft. HDMI this weekend. Hopefully I will have the Samsung 650 soon. Glad to know that it works, perfect timing on your post. Thanks for posting.

Ditto (but I can't really see a difference in component vs. HDMI)

Instead of running component I decided it was easier to setup the Family room TV with component and make the long run with HDMI. Since HDMI is a single cable for audio and video it just seemed like an easier run. Plus I put in wall plates so it looks nice and neat. The RF remote works great so I think I will pick up a separate remote just for the basement. The family room TV is a 37 inch lcd and component looks just fine on it. I figured instead of getting a splitter so both TV's could run HDMI I may as well use what is already there and save the money. Everything looks GREAT and I can't see the difference between the component vs HDMI on the 37 inch so that helped me make the switch as well.
