I was just thinking ... I've had the experience of a PC getting trashed by a virus. I spent a bunch of money to recover the info on the hard drive. (Now I do backups to two separate drives every now and then, hardware firewall *and* a software firewall.) Similarly but slightly different: I'd actually pay a little more for example if a Dish DVR came with two drives, and it automatically backed up the "main" drive to the "backup" drive once a week or so. The backup drive wouldn't be used nearly so much as the main drive and should last quite a while longer. The chances of both going at the same time would be very small. Very little chance of losing all the info in the box.
