Also, I've been PM'd that they would likely not give me the $20 "Go Green" discount stacked on the bundling deal, but when I called Qwest the CSR patched us in with a DTV CSR and got it ok'd. So it's supposedly going to happen. My fingers are crossed!!

I got the $20 go green deal with a similar bundled package when I signed up online after my account was activated. I believe all new subscribers get that deal. I also got the HD extra package free for 3 months by signing up after my account was activated, and HBO, Cinemax and TMC free for 3 months when I called to complain because I didn't have access to my free Showtime.

How much do you have to pay/mo for Quest and is it DSL or just phone service?

For $15/mo for 1 year, then $30 for life, I signed up for the DSL silver package 1.5 mb. My comcast was only giving me 600 and some odd kb, even though it was supposed to be high speed. Also, when they checked my phone they were able to drop it (basic, no long distance) by $10. So I actually saved $50 total = $20 month ($10 DTV, $10 off phone, plus another $30/mo for 12 months.

The Qwest CSR told me they were going to fiber optics in the future and that the $30 price for life will be there, but we shall see. Anyway, I'm good, maybe even better with the change in internet.

Actually...they gave me the option of doing the NFL Sunday Ticket instead, I can't remember if it was in their Premium package or separate, after I had negotiated all my deals but Qwest. I've read elsewhere that people have had success getting a couple of HD DVR's for free, but I guess I didn't push hard enough and paid $99. That promo is for 4 months, includes all the premium channels and you can downgrade at any time and the cost is more or less the same as my package.

Deal keeps getting better. DTV sent a guy out who hadn't installed the HD DVR before and so only my standard DVR worked. He called and they gave me Starz for 3 months, then once it was working I called and the CSR gave me the Sports Pack @ $10 off per month for 6 months.

Did you call the designated AAA phone #? I called last week and was told the opposite, that the 18 off deal could be used in conjunction with the AAA deal.

Does anyone know exactly how the qwest bundling/billing works?

I have qwest (local + long distance + dsl). I already have DirecTV.

I don't want to change my package, programming, services, etc. I have lifetime DVR from DirecTV and don't want to lose that.

1) If I "bundle" through Qwest to get the $10/discount, does DirecTV basically just forward my bill to Qwest? Or do I have to sign up for a programming package through qwest?

2) Do I lose my ability to see/change my programming/services on directv.com if I bundle through qwest?

My understanding is that the DirecTV billing just filters through Qwest and it shouldn't affect your ability to do online what you do now, nor your ability to add/change programming/services through DirecTV.

The only thing that I've seen mention of a problem with is sometimes the bundling discount and any discounts you may get through DirecTV for other things don't always play nice. I don't bundle, though, so I have no firsthand experience and I have to rely on what is reported by others.

I have no issues with the Qwest/DirecTV bundle. All equipment updates or programming changes are handled by DirectTV. Qwest only does the billing.

You can still use DirecTV.com for everything else. The billing does not show up on DirecTV.com, but you can view it on Qwest.com.

Just call Qwest and tell them you want to opt into bundled billing. Nothing changes on the D* side of your billing at all. Qwest just starts paying your bill and then bills you for it. You're account balance must be $0 when the request goes through so I would recommend finding out your bill cycle date and either make a payment on the second day of the bill cycle, that's the day the bill generates, or just put a recurring CC on it then call qwest.

I'd give them a call and make sure you are getting the full bundle credits. The auto pay shouldn't negatively affect your bundle discounts at all.
