ever since I got HD and they installed the 5 LNB dish all my receivers have black screens occasionally when i change the channels. it happens more often on my non dvr receivers but does it on all 4.

the problem is it stays black until i change the channel and change it back. so needless to say if its set to record something and switches to a black screen, it tapes the whole time on a black screen with no sound.

anyone else having this problem?

i take this as a no? should i call DTV and see what they can do.

I have had a black screen problem a couple of times with both of my R15 DVR's. Changing channels usually will correct it. Sometimes it happens on recorded shows, and usually I can't recover from that (be able to watch the rest of the recorded show).

Problem just very recently started happening.

I started having this problem occasionally a couple of months ago. It happens on both my H10 and H20 and I don't have a 5LNB. In fact, until this posting I thought it might be because I've not upgraded my 3LNB. Now I think it's related to software and/or changing stations that change from SD to HD or vice versa. When it does happen I usually can just channel up or down and the picture comes back.

yeah that fixes mine too, but when it happens when i try to record something then it really stinks. i dont want to miss the show do to this.

I've had this problem on a couple of my d10-200's also. I forced a software download and it took care of it (even though the prior software was current). I don't know if it will help you guys, but you might want to try and see.
