My understanding is the next channel launch date is August 14th.kryscio23 said:What can we expect to see come Wednesday morning in terms of new channels?
Anyone have any real information?
You KNOW DTV wants to make a splash before the Olympics too ...
Because maybe he's staying up late.kryscio23 said:So why don't you just tell us that nothing is planned.
We all know you are a big cheese around these parts, Tom.

Ask him about Thursday?Tom Robertson said:I'm expecting to sleep in...
Someone had a theory that they picked Thursday's because there are other channel changes on 7/30 and 8/13. Seemed like a good theory.Herdfan said:Ask him about Thursday?
For some reason, DirecTV has decided to use Thursdays as their new launch day.
Thanks ... and I guess you guys are right ... I did hear from someone else that they mentioned the 14th for new stuff.Tom Robertson said:Corrected your post.![]()

I am in the same DMA as you and have heard this same thing. But when WNEP and FOX came online they were available on the tv listing on D* website a few days before. If you look today WYOU and WBRE are still not their. So I am not sure if this means anything. I am one of the people that got the call that I will be losing my DNS service on Thursday. I live in Clinton county and I have had DNS since I went to HD almost 2 years ago. Really going to miss these two channels in HD.cashoe said:Please don't take this as gospel, but i am in the same region as you, just off I-84.
once upon a long ago I saw a list of planned migration dates for local markets and ours was on that list in the 1st or 2nd week of August.
No, I don't know where I saw it, I'm not even sure it was on this forum, BUt see it I did, and I'm just passing on my memory of it.
Yes I know the word of "some guy on the internet" is worth about as much as a teaspoon of warm spit, but I am hoping to see 22/28/38 in HD sooner rather than later.
44 as well, since WVIA is the uplink point to directv for our local stations, though from my understanding the PBS HD carriage agreement is quite complicated and another victim of the "soon" timeframe.
