so we have.

2 Dish 500s each with a DisPro DUAL LNBs
1 Dish 1000 with the normal crap it comes with.
1 DPP44 Switch
1 SW21 Switch

The ides here is to run each of the Dish 500s to the SW21 switch (for 61.5 and the other to 148) then into one port (PORT 4) of the DPP44 switch (Not PORT 1).

The Dish 1000 would run into PORT 1,2,3 for 110,119,129.

I am currently under the impression this will allow me to nab 5 sat locations.

A SW21 works with Legacy LNBs and switches. It does NOT work with DishPro anything.

Sorry.

Ok, thanks for the info.
Depending on the receivers you want to feed the signal TO DP21's can be used to add the fifth satellite.

You cannot put a switch on the inputs to the DPP44 ... those four input lines must come directly from the dishes. But you can add DP21's on the outputs of the DPP44 to add the fifth satellite. The output of the DP21 can only feed a single tuner on the receiver, so if you're feeding a 322/522/625/622 you'll need a pair of DP21s and a second cable run to the receiver. If that 5th satellite needs to go to more than one receiver you will need the appropriate DP splitters and multiple DP21s.

Note these are DP21s, not SW21s.

I've got a five slot setup where certain receivers see all five slots and others don't.

Thanks James.
The output to my of the DPP44 can go into dish1 on the DP21 and the other dish2 input would be the dish pointed at 148. The output of the DP21 would then run to my 622.

If that holds true can I still use the splitter behind my 622 to feed both tuners? nm Cause the splitter dont work on the DP21s.
The 622 is a dual tuner receiver. You would need two DP21s and two feeds to the receiver. The splitter (separator) that one uses with a DPP44 doesn't work with a DP21.

You will also need to use the power inserter on your DPP44 switch. Place it between the DP21 and the DPP44 output 1 (unless you have a second receiver that doesn't need the fifth sat).

Great! Got it. Time to buy some DP21s.

James as always thanks a ton for your input.
After looking at my current puzzle I've come to realize maybe just turning the dish thats currently at 61.5 to 148 would be possible.

What do I have to lose?

Which sat locations do you have James?
The HD Demo channel is only on 61.5° --- everything else is mirrored between 61.5° and 148°, so I'd say you have nothing to lose.

I was paying attention to "how to get five" so much I didn't think "why do you want five". :)

Mine are 119° 110° 118° 129° on the DP44 and 61.5° on the DP21's.
My ViP 622 and extra 301 isn't wired to get 61.5° .
My Vip 211 and 501 are the ones connected to 61.5° .

I originally had the setup with a SuperDish105 for locals - now my locals are on 119° I added 118° for the fun of it. :)

Exactly. Why the heck do I need the 5? I see that on 148 they have HBOHD West and East. Plus some other stuff thats in MPEG4.
I forgot about the "high def" HBO and SHO over there on 148°. IIRC they are a higher bit rate than the ones on 110° so having them wouldn't hurt.
Thats the idea.

Thanks James.
The only channel you may lose by not having 61.5 is the east coast feed of cbs. Of course if you do not qualify for it, or subscribe to it, you wouldn't be seeing it anyway. But you should be able to pick up the west coast feed on 148 in this case.

Nope, no Distant sub here. I got everything else E* offers in my language. HD Platinum, FoxSportsPak, WB Superstation pak. And now NHL-CI. :D
The only thing you wouild need 61.5 for is Sky Angel. Seeing that you are in California, it's long-shot weather or not you can even get a good look at 61.5.

61.5 is clear as a bell. Pretty bad I get a better signal on 61.5 than 129 :p
I don't see why this wouldn't work.

There is HBO HD & SHO HD on the 148 bird but isn't a W version. It is the same feed as 110 but a diff #. I have 61.5, 110/119, & 148. On my schedule it shows 2 different HBO & SHO but they are the same. Wish it was a W coast version. :(

I see. I do see HBOWest and East with MPEG4 formats. Which rec are you using?

VIP 622 HBO HD ch 9440 & 9456 / SHO HD 9430 & 9460 these have the same time schedule. These all show up on my All HD guide as well as one that I have made for myself.
