It seems to me that my 612 runs pretty hot.
I wonder if I place it on a laptop cooler powered from the USB connector on the receiver will it work?
Barring that; is there an AC to USB adapter that will do the trick?
Thanks

What are the temperature readings?

To find out if heat is a problem press

menu - 6 - 2 - counters
then page down using

until you see HDD temperatures.

Mine read:
High: 118
Average: 105
Low: 100

Just to note, I've never had a heat problem on my 612 unlike my 722. I do have a laptop cooler under my 722 which I use in the Summer, mostly. And no it cannot be supported from the DVR's USB plug. You need an adapter.

In most cases if your high temperature stays under 140 and your average under 125 you're probably ok. For those of us with 622/722 units, a 127 seems great if that's the high.
