I apologize if this has been covered elsewhere. After nearly a year of perfect service two weeks ago I got a serious problem. When watching HD programs (and only HD) recorded from Dish HD locals onto the 622, for viewing later (e.g., 30 Rock), the program will freeze, then reboot the 622, causing it to search for signal, etc. - a five minute process - this happens 2 - 4 times per HD show. The Wife will no longer view HD programs as a result, and I am getting seriously irked! Is this a known issue? Who should I try to talk to at Dish? I tried standard tech support, got an outsourced woman who new less about the 622 than my wife, and I gave up in disgust, because I had to watch an HD program - in real time! Help!!!!

Call tech support until you get someone that will replace your 622. It should not be rebooting while you simply watch a HD recorded program. It is defective and needs to be replaced. If you get a CSR that won't authorize the replacement, call back until you find one that will.

I recently had a similar problem with my 921 and it turned out that the hard drive went bad. In my case, there was an intermediate step where the program would stall and if I waited, it would play from the beginning of the program.

Any chance CC was on? I've experienced this with some mpeg4 channels when CC was on.
