Hello,

I joined the world of Sat. TV yesterday. I am confused by the dual tuner and off air tuner concept. I want to record 2 programs at once. I went to the guide and highlighted and hit record for the program I wanted. I went through the create file. Then I highlighted another program, on at the same time. Hit record and went through the create file.

I went back in to look at my scheduled recordings. It showed both shows. One was prioritzed with a 1 and the other with a 2. Will both record? or will the priority one take over the recording for that hour?

Any suggestions would be helpful.

thanks

Both will record. You will get a message when you have too many events at the same time. It will still create the event but there will be an X in the circle instead of a 1 or 2. If you have an antennae connected for OTA, that will give you a third option. Those are the local digital channels and appear as yellow where it tells the station number in the guide. I try to record off the air as much as possible to free up the SAT tuners for RAVE and movies. My problem is I do not have enough hours in the day to watch everything that I record!

Thanks for the info. I do have the OTA antennae. Are you saying that I could record 3 shows at once?

For the 1 millionth time. YES.

Do a quick search on this site and it will turn up like a thousand posts that confirm this.

Can we make a sticky in ALL BOLD CAPS that says:

THE 622 CAN RECORD 3 HD PROGRAMS AT ONCE (as long as one is OTA)

I did not see anyone else mention in their replies, but the 1 and 2 are not priorities. The 1 and 2 are the tuners that it will record on. You can see the same thing when you bring up the guide, a 1 or a 2 in the guild showing you what will be recorded, and what tuner it will be recorded on.

That's not a priority issue. Thats showing you what tuner they will record on.

Someone also forgot to mention that if you record an OTA station, it will say tuner 1 as well which can make it a bit difficult to understand.
