I have a Hatachi HD tv that is about 4 years old. When I had D* (up until yesterday when they installed E*) I had my Zenith 520 STB hooked up with DVI. I also had my Samsung 360 STB hooked up the same way to my Toshiba tv in the bedroom.

The 622 has a HDMI out put rather than DVI. I would like to use this connection if possible. Are there any issues associated with buying an adapter that would connect HDMI to DVI? I seem to recall reading something about this somewhere and I think I read where it created a problem with the 622. I don't remember now the specifics. If there is no problem, where would be a good source to purchase such an adapter?

After about 14 years with D* I made the switch and had E* installed yesterday (VIP622). They used all the same wires from my D* and had to run no cable whatsoever. I had two lines in (for my old DTivo's dual tuners) which they used for the 622. Then, I had one extra cable going to my bedroom and one extra cable going to my HD STB. They hooked those together to create the loop that would send signals from the 622 to my bedroom tv. It seemed odd that they would do this but it works. I'm just wondering if the install was complete (as far as I know there was no switch or anything else used - in fact, they put the 1000 dish right on the old D* mast). So, does anyone see a problem with this install? Like I say, it seems to work okay (I've only used it a few hours however) but I don't want to get shorted in quality just because I had lots of cable already running through the house.

I've created three threads concerning my E* installation yesterday and I probably should have lumped them all together. Well, my final question has to do with hooking up my 622's audio out. The first hookup of course goes to my tv. The second I want going to my stereo amp for my home theater; the third to my wireless headphone transmitter and the fourth to a dvd recorder. But how do I do this with the number of audio outs provided on the 622? Right now, I am using pigtails and using the TV2 outputs for my headphones. Is there a better way? Are pigtails okay to use (I can't seem to tell much difference in sound quality but then again I have not done an A/B test). Thanks in advance for any tips on how to do my hookup.
