pardon me for asking but I am a DTV subscriber. I was checking out my parents 622 tonight. Their setup is a 61.5 dish and a dish 500 for 110/119.

The signal strengths on all the sats were on the order of 50 to 60. (that would be a weak signal on a DTV set). I noticed the scale goes up to 125.

Is 50-60 considered a weak signal on the 622's meter? I'm wondering if the dishes need aligning or have interference.

Metro Atlanta area.

50-60 is just fine. DISH recently adjusted the signal strength meter to show a more accurate depiction of the signals, though they made the adjustment, they did not change the scale view.
Prior to the adjustment, 50-60 probably would have read 80-100. I believe they found a more accurate reading better served technical support, as opposed to the more common "colorized" reading that better suits the subscriber.

That sounds conspicuous enough. Don't know how I missed it.

Thanks.
Don't feel bad...it is probably one of the most asked new-user questions here :)
BTW, in case you didn't notice, the ViP receiver remembers the aspect ratio setting for a channel, so if you set the aspect ratio to stretch for a SD channel, and to normal for a HD channel, each time you visit those channels, the last aspect ration set for the channel, will be applied.
