Now it's been five days including a weekend with my affair with 721. So far, I had to call Technical Support three times, had to reboot four times not including the reboot took place without any intervention, had been offered to replace the unit if the problem persists

Here are my problems so far:

Program search menu doesn't display the "on-screen" keyboard - I've been told to reset to "factory defaults" which I refused since there is no option on the preferences which eliminates the on-screen virtual keyboard. I had no intention of redoing the favorites, etc. So, I've been transfered to second person who suggested that there is no keyboard option yet (it's reserved for future use). I had to tell him that there is an on-screen keyboard and upon his insistence I asked him to go to favorites list and choose the "rename" option. He did and learned about the keyboard. He came back and told me to unplug the unit to reset it. Which I did and resolved the no on-screen keyboard issue. Then, discovered that the search with keywords or even exact program title brings up the tiles not even remotely related to the search word.

The other one was about the freeze and reboot by itself. As I watching a recorded event, the picture froze and in a minute it started reboot process. Once it's finished was back to normal. Didn't loose the recorded program. He said they know about it and requires the replacement of the unit. I said no thanks (I'm not interested in getting a refurbished unit for the time being).

Next item was not being able to cancel the currently being recorded program to be canceled. I cannot stop the recording while it's being recorded. Apparently, that is also an issue known to DISH so they are working on it.

There were other timer related issues which have been discussed here as far as I know so I skip them. But there is one piece of info in regards to Mon-Fri recording which was read to me by the tech support from an internal memo; it requires day by day setting as they work on to resolve the problem. For the consecutive recording the recommendation is setting one title and manually editing the timers to prevent conflicts.

I also found out that they have a customer suggestions form that they fill out if you ask for it. I asked a way to jump the dates be implemented on program guide so the viewer doesn't have to scroll with half hour increments till next nine days. I want to be able to go to next day or whatever if I want to record from the listing.

If I ignore the noisy HD/fan box, otherwise a fine piece of ____ (fill in the blank  ). My two cents...

I've accidently canceled programs being recorded (by hitting the stop key). I only think I've done this on programs I manually started recording though. Never tried to stop a program I set a timer for.

In the guide, pressing the skip forward and skip back ships forward and back by day increments (very useful)

A really strange thing I've seen is if you have back to back recordings, depending on how you set them up, setting the 1 min prior/3 minutes after works or doesn't work
(it seems if you set them up in the same run in the guige, both can be set to 1 min prior/3 minutes after and it will use the second tuner to record the second program)

A strange thing my friend saw is that in the point dish menu, if you boot the system up with no sattelite signal, you get no sound till you click on check switch, at which point when you come back you get sound (with 103).

I just stopped a recording (from a timer) yesterday, I started watching the Giants game about an hour delayed and accidently hit stop. Well it did just that, I went to the PVR menu and noticed it stopped. Quickly went to live and looked away from the fox box and starting recording from there. Turns out the way the Giants played it may have been better to not start another recording..:)

I still need to play around with watching stuff in progress, most of the time the event is well over when I watch, except for the last few weeks I've been watching the Giants delayed.

Here is a ???, If I start watching an event delayed and then want to stop and walk away, obviously stop doesn't work, maybe just hit pause, or maybe even just a power down, then it should keep recording and I can pick up where I left off...???

I wasn't aware of the skip forward, skip back, in the guide I am aware that if you hit 99, and right arrow, it jumps ahead 99 hours, or any # (I don't think you can over 100, because it immediately jumps to that channel)

Another football timer, I forgot to add time to the end of the Giants game the first week, so I tried to modify the timer's end time and it said it couldn't do it while it was recording, I thought that was odd.

Jen got #@! tinight with a freeze and reboot while taping another show. The lack of names on future PVR events is sad, just what were they thinking of? All in all ours is working pretty good but for a product delayed what 1.5 years its not there yet....

Jen is MOST frustrated by the conflicting timers that dont exist. After all the delays the product should of been better. I am keeping my DPs active and record cant miss shows on both receivers.....
