Hi everyone. My name is Tim, I'm a new member to DBSTalk.com (superb site -- congrats to all who make this happen), I just got my DishPVR 721 last Friday, and since then it has performed outstandingly -- with not a problem, glitch, or even anything resembling a hiccup of any kind. I'm very pleased thus far.
My one question is this. On the now closed 721 Review thread, Mr. Pete wrote, "When archiving to tape can you tell the 721 to play a series of shows back to back?
That way, you can start recording before you go to sleep and it will be done by the time you wake up."
Scott, I know that in a follow-up posting you responded with a "yes," one can indeed have the 721 perform that function. Just take a look at some of the shots or even the video.
But.......how specifically do you make the 721 carry out this task?
I've conquered just about all of the 721's features -- but cannot seem to figure out how to tell it to play back-to-back events (or select multiple playback items) from the PVR menu screen. Like Mr. Pete, I also would love to be able to accomplish this in order to do any archiving to VHS. (I know, I know.....why I would want to archive to VHS is a whole other issue I guess old habits die hard.)
Thanks in advance for any help out there. And congratulations on an AWESOME forum everyone is taking part in. I read almost every posting on the 721 before I made my purchase. It was definitely a huge research help.
