8 way splitter & SWM

I just subscribed to Direct and am using a swm dish with an 8 way splitter as it was the only one I had. Should the power pass port that is not used have a terminator on it. It would seem that a power port that has a terminator would short out something. Also can this port be used for a receiver as it is sending power and would this not damage a receiver?

If the 8-way is after the PI, then the power passing port doesn't really matter. With so many unused ports though, I think it would be a good idea to terminate all open ports.

Per DIRECTV all ports not utilized on the splitter, or multiswitch (module if
used) must be terminated.
