I have noticed recently that my signals on the 99C sat have been changing from day and night.

This morning the signals on 99C -
95 94 95 92 92 92 91 94
91 92 92 91 92 92

Last night they were-
82 80 84 79 81 82 85 81
83 80 80 82 82 81

This happens consistantly everyday. The other satellites stay about the same within1 to 2 points all the time.

103C-
95 94 95 91 92 95 92 91
92 93 89 92 95 92

The 101 - 119 - and 110 are all mid 90's to 100.

Has anyone seen this happen before and is it normal. I live in the north east in central Nh and was wondering if it was just the atmosphere or something else that would cause that up here or is it my system.

My system is 2 HR21-200 and a D10 with a slimline and swm 8. This occurs on both HR21's. I have not had any loss of signal issue other than heavy storms so no outage problems. If anyone knows anything that would be great- thanks.

I am in a townhome and the dish is on the 2nd floor balcony and gets direct sun for part of the afternoon. It is mounted on a tri-pod with a 2in od sleeve that fits over the original metal pole. The SWM is attached to the side of the building and is in the sun as well.

Try going to the SWM module in the afternoon or when you are noticing the reduced signals, is it too hot to hold your hand on for awhile?

There have been some other reports of the SWM modules getting too hot when in direct sunlight and warm temperatures and it could potentially be affecting it if it is running too hot.

When I came home from work the99C was down a little at 6pm but by 7pm they had dropped 10 points from the morning. The other satellites including 103C were the same or a point or 2 different.

When I checked the SWM it was hot but I could hold it in my hand for 30 seconds or so without burning. It was hot but not too hot to touch.

Hrm, that sounds about normal on the SWM from what I have heard so you should be good there at least as far as heat is concerned.

The only other main thing I can think of is the LNB, but it is kinda hard to troubleshoot any further without just replacing it.

Anyone else have any ideas?

I'm having the oppsite problem as you on my even transponders on 103c. Durring the afternoon i lose up to 30 points on 103c even transponders 2,4,8,10,12. Transpnder 2 being 30 points lower inceasing to maybe only 10 points on transponder 12. Odd transponders are fine. Happens on both tuners 1&2. After the sun goes down evens go back to normal. Happens on hot and cool days, sunny and cloudy days. All other slots are fine.

I have had, and others as well, temperature senstive LNB's. Very hard to trouble shoot. Anywhere from partial to complete signal loss in the heat of the day and return once the LNB cools in the shade of evening.

Now this morning around 5:30am when I checked the signals the 101-119-110 and 103 were all about the same as the always are. Now on the 99 the signals were back up to normal however they sporadically changed to 0 then back up to the regular number. This seemed to happen for about 10 minutes or so because when I went to check my other box downstairs it was not doing it. By the time I got back upsatirs that box had stopped. When I left at 6:30 everything was normal as it usually is in the morning. 99 and 103 are high 80's to mid-90's with no 0's.

I will check what is on there when I get home tonight. I know the inside wiring was done by the cable company last year. It is new construction and they used used the green digicon connectors. I will see what is on the dish and SWM that brings it to the cable box.

I am getting 30 - 40 point changes on 99c also. I have been getting a lot of low signal warnings on FoodTV HD (231), so I checked all the signal levels yesterday. All sats were in the 90's except for 99c which were no higher than 38. Today I am getting 70 - 80 on most of 99c (although a couple are still 38). Also no signal problems on 231 today.
